Halo: The Fall of Reach
Summary
This book is a prequel to Halo: The Flood which is based off of the first Halo game for the Xbox that was remastered for the Xbox One, and Xbox 360. This tells the story of the Spartan II program, and some of the conflict before the Human-Covenant War. If you are a fan of the Halo series, I really suggest you start here because this shows the bond between the Spartans, and their history together with each other that shows throughout the books.
Plot
This starts out with the conscription of children into the Spartan program. They undergo training, and this timeline shows the children's evolution into top notch soldiers under the Navy Special Warfare branch of the UNSC. This also goes into the first battle the Spartans ever had against the covenant. This continues until the point after Reach falls, and where Halo: The Flood begins.
Recommendation
I recommend the Halo book series to anyone who likes Halo's universe because it brings a face to the Master Chief that isn't really expressed well until Halo 4.

Watchmen
Summary
This graphic novel is an amazing work that shows how a superhero in real life would be psychologically. From the 'Superman' Dr. Manhattan, to the 'Batman' Rorschach and Nite Owl combined.
Plot
The plot in itself is that someone is killing the group of superheroes after they have been disbanded as a group. It starts at the death of the Comedian. Rorschach investigates the Comedian's death, and as he is doing this Dr. Manhattan leaves Earth for his own reasons. Nite Owl is pulled from retirement when Silk Spectre meets with him after Dr. Manhattan leaves. Rorschach gets captured by the police after finding out he's been ratted out, and he goes to jail for crimes he committed. Nite Owl pulls him out of jail, and they go out on a search for Ozymandias who is a super intelligent human who is reputed to be the smartest man. This reveals his plot for making the world a better place. In this Rorschach attempts to leave with this quote which is on the bottom of this summary. Dr. Manhattan stops Rorschach from going back to the rest of the world by disintegrating him.
“No. Not even in the face of Armageddon. Never compromise.”

Recommendations
I'd recommend this to anyone who likes to see what would happen to superheroes if they were real. The psychological breakdown of all the main characters is amazing. And it should be noted how the superheroes evolve throughout the novel, because it's really interesting to see how the superheroes change throughout the timespan.
